Andrea’s Mobile Live Scan Service is available to Live Scan applicants seven days a week. I am open until 10:30 p.m. to help with your last-minute emergency Live Scan. I often receive calls from applicants who are in a bind and need a last-minute evening appointment.
Live Scan Form Requirements
In order to Live Scan the applicant, I need a Request For Live Scan Service form. The form is generally provided to the applicant from the requesting agency. Applicants often do not have the form or have a misconception that the Live Scan operator can provide one to the applicant. The applicant should always reach out to the requesting agency for any questions pertaining to the Request For Live Scan Service form. The Live Scan operator does not provide the Request For Live Scan Service form to the applicant.
Three copies of the Request For Live Scan Service form should be filled out and completed by the applicant. One form for the Live Scan operator, one for the applicant, and one for the requesting agency. Having the Request For Live Scan Service form filled out saves time for the operator and the applicant.
ID Required
When a Live Scan applicant provides identification to the Live Scan operator, the identification must not be expired. Government issued identification with a photo that is non-expired include a Driver’s License, Identification Card, and Senior Identification Cards. Out of State Driver’s Licenses are also excepted as long as the identification is not expired.
Live Scan Status – What Happens Afterwards
After the fingerprints are taken and submitted to the Department of Justice and/or the FBI, the applicant can check the status of their Live Scan application at https://applicantstatus.doj.ca.gov. The Live Scan processing time varies. Some results appear within 24-48 hours once the DOJ/FBI receives the Request For Live Scan Service form. The Live Scan process can also take 3-7 days.
I always recommend the Live Scan applicant reach out to the requesting agency with any follow up questions. As the Live Scan operator, I cannot answer them because I do not have access to the information pertaining to the question.
